Managing Project Pricing Factors

Project Pricing Factors is a feature that allows you to set up your pricing factors for Project Proposals. You can create multiple Project Pricing Factors based on Offices or other identifiers. This feature allows you to set standard project agreements' rates, margins, and factors that you can select when creating a Project Proposal.

When Creating Project Proposals, a drop-down menu allows you to select Margin Setup File. If you would like to create a new pricing factor or edit an existing one follow the instructions below.

Creating a Project Pricing Factor

  1. Click the wheel icon on the top right of the page.
    • This will open a System Settings page allowing you to access all sub-menus.
  2. Click the Project Mgmt button on the Nav Bar.
  3. Click Project Pricing Factors.
  4. Click the + New button.
  5. Fill out the fields. Use the Field Description and Definitions for reference.
  6. Click Save when done.

Editing a Project Pricing Factor

  1. Click the wheel icon on the top right of the page.
    • This will open a System Settings page allowing you to access all sub-menus.
  2. Click the Project Mgmt button on the Nav Bar.
  3. Click Project Pricing Factors.
  4. Click the down arrow next to the Pricing Factor you want to edit.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Make changes to the fields. Use the Field Description and Definitions for reference.
  7. Click Save when done.

Field Description and Definitions

Item Description Definition
Setup Description The name of this project pricing factor.
Burden Rate $ Per Hour

The total hourly cost for an employee. Including items such as benefits, sick leave, compensation, etc.

This will be added to all Labor Class's Hourly Rate.

Vehicle Cost Per Mile

Here you can enter vehicle cost per mile traveled.

Equip. and Matl. Warranty Multiplier

This is the Equipment and Material Warranty Multiplier. Enter a percentage to add that percentage amount for any Warranty values on a worksheet.

Equip and Matl. Consumable Multiplier

This is the Equipment and Material Consumable Multiplier. Enter a percentage to add that percentage amount for any Consumable values on a worksheet.

Equipment Tax Multiplier

This is the Equipment Tax Multiplier. Enter a percentage to add that percentage amount for any Equipment Tax values on a worksheet.

Material Tax Multiplier

This is the Material Tax Multiplier. Enter a percentage to add that percentage amount for any Material Tax values on a worksheet.

Project Tax Multiplier

This is the Project Tax Multiplier. Enter a percentage to add that percentage amount for any Project Tax values on a worksheet.

Over Time Multiplier The overtime multiplier for your Labor Cost. Enter a decimal value to add that percentage amount for any Project Tax values on a worksheet. Typically is 1.5
Double Time Multiplier The double time multiplier for your Labor Cost.
Misc. After Markup

Add a percentage value here if you want to add markup to the total, after its been marked up by the other multipliers.

Labor Class

The Labor Class fields below allow you to name and set costs for your different types of labor.

Hrly Rt $

The hourly rate you charge your customers for labor will be calculated as follows:

(Labor Cost / (1 - Labor Margin)) +
(Burden Rate $ Per Hour / (1 - Burden Margin))

A - Labor Class Description The name for this Labor Class A.
A - Labor Class Cost The hourly cost for Labor Class A.
B - Labor Class Description The name for this Labor Class B.
B - Labor Class Cost The hourly cost for Labor Class B.
C - Labor Class Description The name for this Labor Class C.
C - Labor Class Cost The hourly cost for Labor Class C.
D - Labor Class Description The name for this Labor Class D.
D - Labor Class Cost The hourly cost for Labor Class D.
E - Labor Class Description The name for this Labor Class E.
E - Labor Class Cost The hourly cost for Labor Class E.
F - Labor Class Description The name for this Labor Class F.
F - Labor Class Cost The hourly cost for Labor Class F.
Supervision The hourly cost for Supervisor.
Supervision Multiplier You can enter a percent you want to add to every hour of work performed by a Supervisor.
Labor Margin The margin in percentage for labor rate.
Burden Margin The margin in percentage for overhead burden rate.
Material Margin The margin in percentage for material.
Use Material Matrix

If you check to enable this, it will ignore the Material Margin, and create a Material Multipliers Matrix based on 5 material cost ranges, with separate multipliers. You can enter your cost ranges and your own multipliers. The matrix will automatically calculate the Margin as a preview.

Equipment Margin  The margin in percentage for equipment.
Consumable Margin  The margin in percentage for consumables.
Warranty Margin  The margin in percentage for warranties.
Vehicle Exp Margin  The margin in percentage for vehicle expenses.
Living Exp Margin  The margin in percentage for living expenses.
Sub Contract Margin The margin in percentage for subcontractors.
User defined Cost Types Here you can have specific user-defined cost types. when you put in a worksheet you pick a cost type. These can be custom fields with a percentage for your cost type.
