Managing Opportunity Types and Opportunity Type Groups

This article will walk you through the process of managing Opportunity Types and Opportunity Type Groups in ServiceTrade.

Opportunity types can be used to categorize your Opportunities. These types can be grouped based on what kind of opportunity they reflect. This walkthrough will review how to create an opportunity group, an opportunity type, and how to apply an opportunity type to an opportunity.

Note: An Opportunity Type Group needs to exist before an Opportunity Type can be created in it.

 

Creating Opportunity Type Groups

  1. Click the Settings button.
  2. Within the Opportunities section, click on Opportunity Type Groups.
  3. Click the + New button.
  4. Enter a name for the Opportunity Type Group.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click on the dropdown arrow to edit the name and active status of the group.

Adding Opportunity Types within an Opportunity Type Group

  1. Within the Opportunities section, click on Opportunity Type Groups.
  2. Click on Opportunity Types.
  3. Click the + Add New button.
  4. Enter a description for the Opportunity Type.
  5. Select a color for that Opportunity Type.
  6. Click Save.

Applying Opportunity Types to Opportunity

  1. In the sidebar, click on the Opportunities tab.
  2. In Opportunity Manager, the pencil icon on an Opportunity Card to edit the Opportunity.

  3. Click on the Opportunity Type dropdown and select an option from the list.
  4. Click Save.
