The Auto Proposal Number setting allows for setting a new starting ID for Maintenance or Project proposals.  This allows you to select the default prefix as well as the starting ID number shown on proposals of either type.

Instructions

Using the Auto Number Feature for Proposals and Agreements

  1. Click the Settings button.
  2. Depending on if you are changing the Maintenance Mgmt or Project Mgmt setting, click Reset Auto Number JobID within the relevant section.
  3. In the Auto Proposal Number Setup section, you can modify the starting ID Number to a new start date for proposals, and the prefix will change the characters used as a prefix.
  4. In the Auto Proposal Number Setup section, you can modify the starting ID Number to a new start date for agreements, and the prefix will change the characters used as a prefix.
Note: The checkbox changes whether or not these are autogenerated or not. Also, note that Agreement numbers are not generated until the opportunity for the proposal is moved to the Sold stage.
  5. Proposal and Agreement Numbers can be found on the Agreement tab or Project and Maintenance Proposals and can be overridden as needed.
